Reflection: Kho Sock Hui

<SECOND DAY REFLECTION>
What did you do today? (briefly describe your day’s activities)
Today we started working on our presentation. We were to do research and reflect on what we have learnt, all these content then goes into our presentation which was drafted with lots of effort. After several rounds of editing and amending,it was time for the presentation. Despite being nervous, we presented to the best of our abilities. We also listened to other group's presentations and learn from their experiences.My group and I then receive comments to improve which we definitely will put into consideration.

What did you learn today? (discuss any learning points from today’s activities)
We were tasked to do research on water towers for the presentation which deepened my understandings about water towers. Also while reflecting on our project,we would ponder about what went wrong and how we could have work better if we had another chance.

How do you feel about today's activities? (describe how the project has affected your understanding of the discipline and how it may be applied elsewhere , share your insights for the day)
I think that today's activities was a really good platform for me to broaden my understanding on water towers,to learn from other team's experience and reflect on our own mistakes. With a better and clearer understanding now, we will be able to grasp the concepts about building a stable structure and put it to further use in the future.

What new questions do you have regarding the discipline?
None so far

<FIRST DAY REFLECTION>
What did you do today? (briefly describe your day’s activities)
Today was the first day we visited the NTU campus. The campus was big and filled with various unique engineering tools. We then met our professor who introduced us to water towers. He then went through the list of failures that might occur in water towers so that we could have avoid repeating them. We then went on to build our water tower and tested the weight load it could carry at the end of the day.

What did you learn today? (discuss any learning points from today’s activities)
Today I learnt about the different failures that might occur in water towers and how to avoid them. Also I learnt how to build a water tower structure under the guidance of the facilitators.

How do you feel about today's activities? (describe how the project has affected your understanding of the discipline and how it may be applied elsewhere , share your insights for the day)
I think that today's activities was interesting and I really enjoyed the process. After the course,I now have a better understanding about water towers.However I feel there might still be room for improvement in terms of how we managed our time and resources. If there is a chance in the future,I would like to participate in such a course again and I will definitely apply the skills I learnt for future uses.

<PRECAMP REFLECTION>
What sounds interesting about this project?
I think the structure of the water tower is amazing and interesting. Despite the water tank being loaded fully with water,it is still able to be balanced stably on a high structure. Thus I signed up for this programme wanting to learn more about the unique design of the structure.

What do you think you can learn from this project?
I think I would be able to learn more about the structure of the water tower. Clear my queries about wondering how the structure is designed such that it can balanced a heavy water tank suspended high about ground level. Last but not least, I would also like to learn how to build a structure that is effective in carrying a water tank filled with the highest amount of water possible.

Any immediate questions regarding the project?
None so far.
